i randomly cut a section in a reel-to-reel tape that i got from a flea market on which gospel was recorded. from this section, i cut six other sections to make loops of about a minute. i deteriorated these six loops in different ways; scratched the magnetic stripe with a razor for one, burned another, buried one for fifteen days (in bad weather), left one in a jar filled with dirty water, violently crumpled one with my hands, and brushed one with an electric toothbrush and toothpaste. i then used these damaged reel tape loops in a multi-track piece, and here is the result.
